If you’ve ever wondered how Rihanna smells like, or you’re a superfan that has always wanted an intimate interaction with the singer, you may never get the opportunity. Well, until now. Rihanna has officially announced her first-ever perfume, the Fenty Eau de Parfum.
Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer, worked directly with Rihanna on the scent. He described how intentional the signer was about the project, recalling a visit to Les Fontaines Parfumées, LVMH’s master fragrance compound in Grasse, where she ended up walking around the garden for five hours.
The scent, which can be considered a “love elixir [is] simple in terms of construction, with fantastic ingredients,” according to Belleturd. The ‘fantastic ingredients’ referred to here include the notes of magnolia, musk, tangerine, blueberry, Bulgarian rose, and patchouli which are inspired by some of Rihanna’s favourite places like Barbados, New York, Los Angeles, and Paris.
The Fenty Eau de Parfum sits in an antique-inspired brown glass bottle that has been designed to fit into the singer’s palms. Speaking on the bottle’s colour, Rihanna said in a press release: “I wanted a rich colour that really represented all genders from across all walks of life. Brown is my favourite colour. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I’m going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that. So, I wanted something brown, but also transparent – so you could see the liquid and the fragrance you’re about to experience.”
The gender-neutral perfume will be available from August 10 on Fenty’s website for $120. However, if you want to get your hands on it before that date, you can head over to Fenty Beauty right now and purchase products up to $40 which will guarantee you a free sample when you use code FENTY at checkout. The offer will be valid until the 8th of August.
