Sadly, in the past few decades, African art has been ignored and under appreciated. In the last five years there has been an African art revival on the continent and around the world. In Senegal they are hosting their very own – Biennale. They have invited the finest local and international artists to create a range of work. This year the theme is ‘Etats de L’Opacite’, this means a State of Opacity.
The event takes place May 7, 2016 and participating Nigerian artist Victor Ehikhamenor has given us a sneak peak of his work. The award-winning visual artist, writer and photography will feature an installation titled ‘The Prayer Room’. The entire installation is a room covered wall-to wall with a strange artistic script.
