Collaborations are almost always interesting and bring forth some of the best creations. Sir David Adjaye’s collaboration with Aston Martin did not only lead to a unique spin on five of the apartments at 130 William but also came with the gift of a DBX custom-designed by the architect himself. The partnership between Rolls Royce and 24 Carat Gin is no less interesting, a marriage that has led to the birth of personalised and numbered 24 Carat Gin Rolls Royce bottles.
24 Carat Gin uses an unusual craft for its gins: every bottle of gin is distilled with 24carat gold, an art that has been employed in the making of the Rolls Royce special-edition bottles which were distilled with 18oz solid 24 Carat Gold bars. It takes over 120 hours of perfecting work to polish each bottle created – a painstaking process that happens in a ‘secret location’ in the United Kingdom. On tasting, you’ll find the aromas of cardamom, anise seed, sarsaparilla, as well as notes of juniper, coriander, French lavender and two kinds of orange peel. Once the blend is perfected in their workshops, the gin is placed in nylon sacks and suspended in a pure, neutral grain spirit, where it stays in tanks for 18 hours to macerate. The result is the true definition of the term ‘liquid gold.’
Rolls Royce’s partnership with 24 Carat Gin is to mark the launch of its 2020 Ghost. Each ultra-minimalist yet aesthetically pleasing bottle of the 24 Carat Gin Rolls Royce is personalised and numbered, with the car’s logo delicately emblazoned into the clear glass.
So, how can you lay your hands on a bottle? Well, it is as simple as purchasing the 2020 Rolls Royce Ghost. The special-edition gin is a gift that only comes with the car that has been touted to be the quietest in the world.
