Nyini Luxury and Mina Stones Present the Arewa Medallion Collection

For quite a number of Nigerians, the Arewa symbol is not a strange sign and is one that you would have seen at least once in your lifetime. But did you know that it signifies a pact uniting diverse people regardless of social identities, religious affiliations, and regions to come together as one?

Apparently, this is the meaning behind the symbol found almost everywhere in Northern Nigeria and it is this icon that Lotanna Amina Okpukpara, founder of Mina Stones, has chosen as the centrepiece of her capsule collection for Nyini Luxury.

Named The Arewa Medallion Collection, this new, gender-fluid drop, made entirely in the US, consists of pendants, necklaces, bracelets and earrings with the Arewa symbol in yellow gold taking centre stage in all the pieces.

“The Arewa, known as the Unity Symbol, is present in many parts in the northern regions of Nigeria. This symbol has come to represent a pact uniting diverse people from all ethnicities, religions and regions to come together as one, promoting a message that has never been more relevant than it is today globally. We’re thrilled to work with Amina to bring her vision of spreading the Arewa message of unity to life. We share her passion for community support and growth through investment, and are excited by the opportunity to be involved in something so important and timely,” says an official statement from Nyini Luxury.
