For other consumers who ply relatively smooth roads daily, this SUV that combines luxury with functional comfort might not really stand out, but for Nigerian drivers that have to deal with rugged terrains even on normal asphalt roads, the 2020 Pajero Sport is a car that commands attention.

Built to sail through any terrain, its rugged exterior is somewhat tamed by smoothly- curving edges housing powerful LED head and rear lamps. Its ruggedness is enhanced by its high displacement V6 engine, Super Select II 4WD system and 8-speed auto transmission which helps you transition easily from smooth roads to offroad terrains, or as we know it here, rough patches that can sometimes be deep and go on for meters.

The 2020 Pajero Sport is packed with modern technologies such as a button start; a reversing camera; an SLDA (Smartphone Link Display Audio) function that mirrors your phone’s apps on an 8.0 touchscreen, allowing you to use Google maps without touching your phone or even play music stored on your device; 2 USBs and one HDMI input, and, 6 speakers.

But it has an added fun tech feature for users: a ‘kick motion technology’ on the rear, just beneath the rear lamps, that allows you open its tailgate with your leg without touching it or using a key. This is perfect for those times when your hands are heavy laden and you are too tired to drop them, open the cargo area and pick them up again.

Or maybe we should make it 2 fun tech features. You know how you have to constantly have your foot on the brake pedal so that you can quickly move once traffic eases up a bit, which happens rather quickly and without warning especially in Lagos traffic? Well, the Auto Hold button relieves you of this chore, giving your feet more rest time by keeping your car in a static position without your foot constantly on the brake pedal. You will not move forward until you step on the accelerator once this button is activated.

Available in 5-seater and 7-seater variants (the latter of which can be folded up for more cargo space) the 2020 Pajero sport is perfect for families. And with a huge cargo area – 673L for the 5-seater and 502L for the 7-seater; a comfy, large front area and leather-covered seats with recline-able backrests, it is perfect for family adventures, shopping, or just about any activity that involves driving.
