The pandemic may just have changed the face of private travel forever, and with more people choosing and willing to go with private jets over commercial airlines, it only makes sense to have more players in the field to cater to increasing demand. Enter Jettly’s new booking platform, which its CEO says is the Expedia for private jet travel.
Traditional private jet bookings involve endless calls and messages between middlemen and brokers, and can sometimes be tedious and tiring. With the Jettly booking platform, you can now order for a private jet anywhere in the world via its easily scannable dashboard that’ll be familiar to anyone who’s booked travel online. It’s in beta — though fully functional for users now — and draws on Jettly’s five-year track record in private aviation.
“It’s made for a millennial mindset,” says CEO Justin Crabbe, who’s quick to point out that he’s in the demographic himself. “We don’t want to be tied to brokers, we want things now — or yesterday.”
The site works in much the same way as Google Flights or Expedia — with a few twists that come into play because of the nature of private aviation. Punch in a departure point and destination, plus dates, and Jettly will pull in pricing data from several operators for different types of jets with all their various policies and options highlighted, including customer reviews.
And while the goal of the platform is to make booking seamless, Jettly still offers its users the option to tailor any particular journey with the help of a private jet concierge. The Millennial twist? They’ll text you rather than call if that’s your thing.
In the last year, private aviation has experienced a huge surge, not just because people want to avoid crowded airports that can be the perfect hub for the Coronavirus, but because quite a number of us have come to see just how flexible and convenient private travel can be. And with new platforms like Jettly coming up to break the barriers that hindered access to this way of life, it is no wonder that more and more people are choosing to fly private.
The future of luxury travel and vacations is clearly a lot of things, but it is safe to say that private travel definitely tops the list.
