Is Telfar dropping a New Circular Clutch Soon? We hope!

Luxury bags – and in general luxury goods – usually make quite the splash when they launch, but only a few become true classics that retain their value years after, turning into alternative assets that trade quickly on the secondary market. Birkins are a good example, and also the Chanel Flap bag. If it eventually drops and is received with the kind attention its teaser has gotten so far, the circular Telfar clutch purse just might join this rank.

Wait, what Telfar clutch purse?

Exactly the question we had in mind when Amanda Murray showed off a never-before-seen Telfar purse on her Instagram story. The sleek black embossed bag, which is shaped in the brand’s circular logo, can apparently be worn as a crossbody or held as a clutch.

Either way, it looked good.

Why has the possibility of the existence of this purse created such a buzz?

Apart from the fact that Telfar Clemens is known to drop instant sell-out bags?

The design for starters. Most clutch purses have a boxy shape, but this Telfar bag sets itself apart immediately with its circular structured design created out of the brand’s logo. Of course, similarly-shaped bags are not altogether rare, but this particular shape just looks unique, and it appears as though it will remain timeless, regardless of the fact that, at first glance, it looks anything but.

Telfar is also more than the products. There is such a thriving community around the brand that it feels like you’re buying more than a bag (or whatever your order is) when you make a purchase. This alone tends to add a bit more value to the product and is a characteristic that all luxury products share.

But really, it is the design more than anything that makes it a truly desirable, must-have fashion accessory.

When can we expect it to drop?

Here’s the really annoying part: we don’t know.

Telfar is so tight-lipped about this particular product that they have managed to create an anxious waiting list of eager customers, whether or not that was their intention in the first place.

The purse clearly exists, judging by Murray’s high industry profile and the personalised note from the brand she showed off in her story, but it is not clear if it is already in production and if it will be available to anyone looking to buy it.

If the responses it has received so far is anything to go by, Telfar will most likely launch it. When? Where? How? At what price? These are answers only Telfar can answer, and so we all wait with collectively bated breaths for the magical moment when the bag will sell out even before the first batch ships out.
