Johnnie Walker recently launched the Blue Label Ghost and Rare – a collection that aims to bring forward some of the finest gems of the whiskey world. Blends in the new JW ensemble are sourced from distilleries that have perished long ago, with few rare versions also procured from running whiskey mills. The final result, however is a luxurious rollercoaster for scotch enthusiasts like us!
Crafted specially by Johnnie Walker Master Distiller, Jim Beveridge, the Blue Label Ghost and Rare consists of rich, velvety smooth blends of eight treasured Scotch whiskies in total. From the fruity sweetness of pineapple to the rich notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, each whiskey in the new Blue Label series boasts of a unique flavor that is near perfect in its right. The collection debuts with the Highland Single Malt, Brora – a blend that takes center stage with its light texture and sophisticated subtle sweetness. Alongside it, are two additional ‘ghost’ whiskies that hail from the now non-existent distilleries of Cambus and Pittyvaich.
The remaining five blends make their way to collection from the running units in Royal Lochnagar, Clynelish, Glenkinchie, Glenlossie and Cameronbridge. The edition displays Johnnie Walker’s excellence in crafting the finest whiskies and its endeavor in protecting the rarities of character, flavor and age that no other scotch can match. While a 750-ml bottle of the Johnnie Walker Brora is set to sell for $399, prices of other Blue Label Ghost and Rare editions remain undisclosed.
