Inside the Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton SS19 Pop-up Store

Louis Vuitton has opened a pop-up store in Mayfair to showcase and also, sell a selection of key pieces from Virgil Abloh’s first collection for the brand for one week only, starting from Monday 22nd October 2018.

Spanning some 2,000 ft in the former Stella McCartney store, the exhibition-come-temporary-flagship will be open to the public until Friday 26th October. On entering the townhouse, guests are directed through the space on a temporary ‘yellow brick road’, created in homage to the Wizard of Oz theme prevalent throughout the collection.

The road takes eager fashion beavers through poppy fields and neon LV installations – designed to emulate the land of OZ – with key pieces from the collection (including a camel-hued leather trench and a series of embossed bags finished with ceramic chains) dotted along the way.

The best thing about this temporary Louis Vuitton townhouse of dreams is that most pieces on the aforementioned yellow brick road are available to buy, and those which aren’t, are available to pre-order.

A suitably zeitgeist-y showcase for Abloh’s inaugural collection for the Parisian megabrand, the pop-up is accessible by appointment only. Attendees would be expected to purchase Virgil Abloh Louis Vuitton SS19 pop-up store tickets to secure a spot before the exhibition closes on Friday.
