The POLAROID further cements its ubiquity in an exhibit showing at the National Museum of Singapore. Called In an Instant: POLAROID at the Intersection of Art & Technology, the exhibit presents the vision of Edwin Land, the founder of the POLAROID brand. Visitors get to wade through a collection of 220 works and artefacts by artists like Chuck Close and James Nitsch.
While it is a traipse down memory lane, near the end, the exhibit takes a turn for the interesting: taking the ‘in an instant’ idea and projecting it against the current landscape of social media, where ‘instantaneous’ is the norm. Get to know several local personalities like Jamie Chua and the Yusman Brothers on their take on the POLAROID movement.
In an Instant: POLAROID at the Intersection of Art & Technology runs from until 31 March 2019.
