Glenfiddich Unveils 30-year-old Single Malt to Celebrate Golden Anniversary

Glenfiddich’s Speyside distillery visitor center has been acclaimed and appreciated by several connoisseurs across the globe. And in marking the 50th anniversary of its operations, the whiskey manufacturer recently unveiled an exotic 30-year-old single malt that is ‘inspired by the 1969 bottling gifted to VIP guests at the original center’s opening’.

Titled ‘Rare Collection Cask Bottle No. 20050’ – the exclusive ensemble consists of 200x bottles from a single cask laid down on Christmas Day 1987. The walnut-colored 30-year-old whiskey has been hand-selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman as a limited edition and boasts flavors that can easily dig right at a true connoisseur’s heart. It features aromas of rich Christmas cake, woody spice and warm dried fruits along with hints of cinnamon, antique leather and coffee grinds that are wrapped in a vanilla sweetness.

Glenfiddich’s latest edition further entails silky smooth, rich and fruity layers with a sweet-spicy flavor and incredible deep darkness. Commenting on the spirit, Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman in a statement said, “The oak tannin creates an intriguing balance of sweet and dry with a luxurious mouth coating oiliness. All culminating in a long-lasting, sweet oakiness – a rare and golden whiskey experience to share and enjoy.”

Bottled at 57.6% abv and priced at £1,600 per 700ml, the Rare Collection Cask No. 20050 is available for purchase at the distillery visitor center gift shop as well as online.
