Financial Times returns to Europe for its annual FT Business of Luxury Summit. Co-chaired by the FT’s editor, Lionel Barber and fashion editor, Jo Ellison, the programme will bring together leading industry executives, creatives and financiers and look at where the luxury revolution is going and how to reposition your brand.

The 2017 Summit holding in Lisbon, Portugal, one of Europe’s most dynamic and evolving cities from 14 – 16 May, will explore the material world of craftsmanship, manufacture and the new markets.

Over the course of two days the FT and brand delegates will discuss luxury’s effort to protect and nurture manufacturing skills, the initiatives to train new generations of artisans and how to you run a global business and retain an authentic heritage and if the industry requires new narratives or creative leadership.

Also to be discussed is how political and economic disruptions is currently changing the luxury industry and their impact on trade. As the birthplace of the majority of luxury houses, Europe’s challenging climate will have a ripple effect not only on consumers, but on the brand’s themselves and their overall positioning. Sessions will discuss how brands such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Hermès are adapting to changing economies and consumer behaviors, also strategy and insight into what should brands be investing in now ad what’s becoming obsolete.
