Who would not like an opportunity to ride in cars that have featured in car-racing action thrillers like the Fast and Furious series, Death Race or even the legendary James Bond movie franchise? I know I would, at least to confirm if they go as fast as they do in the movies.
Well, Aston Martin is giving you the rare opportunity to not only ride but own a car from the soon-to-be-released 25th edition of the James Bond movie, No Time To Die. Actually, make that two cars. The new 007 Editions of the Aston Martin Vantage and DBS Superleggera are a timely collaboration between the luxury car brand and EON Productions, the company that produces the James Bond films with Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios.
The new movie coming out on the 25th of November, 2020 will feature four Aston Martin sports cars: the iconic DB5; the classic Aston Martin V8; the brand’s latest super GT, DBS Superleggera; and the exceptional Aston Martin Valhalla – the company’s yet-to-be-released mid-engined hypercar.
The 007 Aston Martin Editions feature a number of unique customisations crafted by the experts in Aston Martin’s bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin. The Vantage 007 edition is inspired by the classic V8 Vantage which appeared in the 1987 James Bond movie “The Living Daylights,” and features a bespoke mesh grille with chrome bezel on its exterior. It comes in an authentic Cumberland Grey and can even be delivered with a set of The Living Daylights inspired limited edition skis and ski rack.
Inside, you will find a mixture of obsidian black leather and dark chrome with 007 brandings applied on the centre console of cars equipped with a manual gearbox. The sun visors of all the cars will carry another subtle film reference in the shape of an embroidered radio station frequency – 96.60 (FM) – which 007 buffs will know was the Russian police frequency Bond used to aid his escape in The Living Daylights. The driver can indulge themselves further with a laser-etched gadget plaque that references the various weapons and devices seen on the original film car. These include a rocket motor, missiles, lasers, a targeting display and ski outriggers. Available in manual or automatic, the Vantage 007 Edition also boasts a side strake Vantage badge and is limited to 100 units globally.
The second car in this edition, the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition is even more limited than the first. Restricted to only 25 pieces, it is equipped with a 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbocharged engine and comes in a special Ceramic Grey exterior paint with the roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and rear Aeroblade IITM featured in black tinted carbon fibre. It also has a 007 fender badge, finished in chrome with a black enamel infill and Stainless Steel Silver 007 foil applied to the rear spoiler blade.
The interior is marked with Subtle 007 branding which can be found on the door cards, armrest buckle badge and on the rear sub-woofer cover. The car is finished with a sill plaque that recognises it is one of just 25 DBS Superleggera 007 Editions.
Both supercars are available for pre-order now with the Vantage 007 Edition coming at a starting recommended retail price of £161,000 and the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition at a starting recommended retail price of £279,025.
