Airbus’ ‘TwoTwenty’ Offers Travellers Privacy in Luxurious Style

Airbus’s corporate jet division has formally unveiled an executive version of its A220-100 twinjet – the Airbus Corporate Jet ‘TwoTwenty.’ According to the aerospace corporation, the driving force behind its latest private jet with an interior that features 73m² of floor space across six zones that can accommodate up to 18 passengers, is an increased demand from private flyers seeking larger aircraft, hence its term ‘Xtra Large Bizjet.’

With the goal of offering travellers more than just privacy, it has selected VIP aircraft specialist Comlux as its exclusive outfitter for the first 15 cabins of the TwoTwenty programme to spruce up the jet with every stylish and luxurious amenity worthy of a private aircraft.

Part of these amenities include private bedrooms, showers, lounges and lie-flat seating. Customers can choose from a variety of high-tech features, such as speedy connectivity and dimming windows. Thanks to the inclusion of five additional tanks, which allow it carry even more fuel, it will be able to operate across a longer range of up to 5,650nm (10,500km). Yet, it will be saving its owners money with a 25% reduced fuel consumption rate.

Airbus Corporate Jets president, Benoit Defforge, says the ACJ 220 has “compelling market appeal” which includes intercontinental range capability, “unmatched” personal space and comfort, and “unbeatable economics”. He is also confident about the jet’s ability to compete favourably in the luxury private aircraft market, saying that the company sees “promising demand” for the twinjet in the business jet sector.

Well, he is definitely up to something as six orders have already been placed for the jets that are expected to start flying in 2023. Comlux has the first two orders with the remaining four going to an undisclosed buyer.
